Engineers Museum

The Engineers Museum is the oldest corps museum in Finland. It was opened 13 May 1945 in the garrison of Koria, which was the part of Elimäki municipality, now Kouvola town. The Engineers Museum has the status of the scientific military museum and it is supervised by the Military Museum of Finland. The Engineers Museum was re-opened in Miehikkälä in 2007. The Engineers Museum will stay in Miehikkälä still in 2012. In 2013 it will be opened in Hämeenlinna near The Artillery Museum of Finland.

Husula

Husula is a neighborhood in Hamina, Finland. It is located approximately 3 kilometres north from the center of Hamina. Before the town of Hamina and municipality of Vehkalahti merged at the beginning of 2003, Husula was part of Vehkalahti. Together with the neighboring Salmenkylä, it comprises one of the biggest population centers in Hamina, with a population of nearly 2,000. Husula has played a part in Finnish history.

Treaty of Fredrikshamn

The Treaty of Fredrikshamn or the Treaty of Hamina was a peace treaty concluded between Sweden and Imperial Russia on 17 September 1809. The treaty concluded the Finnish War and was signed in the Finnish town of Hamina. Russia was represented by Nikolai Rumyantsev and David Alopaeus (Russian ambassador to Stockholm), while Sweden by Infantry General Kurt von Stedingk (former Swedish ambassador to Petersburg) and Colonel Anders Skjöldebrand.
