Aura River (Finland)

The Aura River is a river in south-western Finland. Its sources are in the town of Oripää, and it flows through Pöytyä, Aura and Lieto before discharging into the Archipelago Sea in the middle of the city of Turku. The Aura River is brown. The total length of the river is about 70 kilometres, and it contains eleven rapids, the biggest of which is Nautelankoski at Lieto.

Paattinen

Paattinen is a village in south-west Finland and a district of the city of Turku. It is located to the north of the city, and is the largest of the city's districts by area. It borders the neighbouring municipalities of Vahto, Nousiainen, Mynämäki, Pöytyä, Aura and Lieto. It is rather sparsely populated, and has a population of only 2,430 despite being much larger than any other of the city's districts. Paattinen has an annual population growth rate of 0.99%.

Maaria-Paattinen

Maaria-Paattinen is a ward (suuralue, storområde) of Turku, Finland, also known as Ward 9. The ward includes almost half of the city's land area, and is its most sparsely populated district. It is located to the north of the city, and named after Maaria and Paattinen, the two former municipalities from which it was formed after both of them were annexed into Turku. Maaria-Paattinen is the second smallest ward of Turku by population, with only 8,756 inhabitants.

Jäkärlä is a district in the Maaria-Paattinen ward of the city of Turku, in Finland. It is located to the north of the city, and is a very sparsely populated area. The current population of Jäkärlä is 3,460, and it is decreasing at an annual rate of 0.43%. 19.31% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while 8.32% are over 65. The district's linguistic makeup is 93.18% Finnish, 1.45% Swedish, and 5.38% other.

Karinainen

Karinainen is a former municipality of Finland. It was merged to Pöytyä in the beginning of 2005. It was located in the province of Western Finland and was part of the Finland Proper region. The municipality had a population of 2,457 (2004) and covered an area of 92.41 km² of which 0.09 km² was water. The population density was 26.73 inhabitants per km². The municipality was unilingually Finnish.
