Orivesi railway station
The Orivesi railway station is located in the town of Orivesi, Finland. The class IV station was built during the years 1881 to 1883. The station has been renewed several times, but the station building has remained almost unchanged in appearance. Some of the buildings in the station were transferred from Terijoki in the 1920s. The station is a crossing point between the tracks from Tampere to Haapamäki and the tracks from Orivesi to Jyväskylä.

Sahalahti is a former municipality of Finland. It was located in the province of Western Finland and was part of the Pirkanmaa region. The municipality had a population of 2,229 (2003) and covered an area of 171.96 km² of which 35.09 km² was water. The population density was 16.3 inhabitants per km². Sahalahti joined to Kangasala on January 1, 2005. The municipality was unilingually Finnish.

The lake is part of Kokemäenjoki basin and a chain of lakes that consists of Längelmävesi, Vesijärvi, Roine, Pälkänevesi and Mallasvesi. This chain of lakes drains into Vanajavesi in Valkeakoski and from southeast another chain of lakes, consisting of the lakes Lummene, Kuohijärvi, Kukkia, Iso-Roine, Hauhonselkä and Ilmoilanselkä joins into it.
