Muuratsalo

Muuratsalo is an island in lake Päijänne, Finland. Northern part of the island belongs to Jyväskylä and Southern part to Muurame. It is located 14 kilometres south from the Jyväskylä city centre and 5 kilometres east from Muurame. There are 800 inhabitants in Muuratsalo. The Muuratsalo Experimental House by Alvar Aalto is located on the island. Elissa and Alvar Aalto discovered the place for this jewel of architecture while Säynätsalo Town Hall was under construction on the neighbouring island.

Muuratjärvi

Muuratjärvi is a lake of Finland in Muurame and Korpilahti, Jyväskylä, with a surface area of 32 km. The lake drains into Päijänne via about 1 km long Muuratjoki river flowing through the center of Muurame.

Säynätsalo Town Hall

The Säynätsalo Town Hall is a multifunction building complex – town hall, shops, library and flats – designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto for the municipality of Säynätsalo (merged with the municipality of Jyväskylä in 1993) in Central Finland. Aalto received the commission after a design contest in 1949, and the building was completed in December 1951.

Korpilahti

Korpilahti is a former municipality of Finland. Together with Jyväskylän maalaiskunta, Korpilahti was consolidated with Jyväskylä on January 1, 2009. It is located in the former province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. The municipality had a population of 5,016 (2003). In addition to this, there are about 4,500 summer-time inhabitants visiting the 2,000 summer cottages. Korpilahti covered an area of 794.62 km² of which 177.44 km² is water.

Korpilahti Church

Korpilahti Church is a Lutheran church in Jyväskylä, Central Finland; the former municipality of Korpilahti was incorporated into Greater Jyväskylä in 2008. The present structure is the third wooden church to have been built on that site.
