Kuru is a former municipality of Finland, now part of the town of Ylöjärvi. Kuru is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Pirkanmaa region. Kuru lies 50 kilometres north of Tampere. The municipality had a population of 2,782 and covered an area of 820.48 km² of which 103.53 km² is water. Lake Ruovesi is a lake in Finland. It is situated in the municipalities of Ruovesi and Mänttä-Vilppula in the Pirkanmaa region in western Finland. The lake is a part of the Kokemäenjoki basin and its main inflows are the Lake Tarjanne in north and the Lake Kuorevesi in the east. The lake drains into the lake Palovesi in south, which in its turn drains into the lake Näsijärvi.
