Krinides is the seat of the municipality of Filippoi south of the Pangaion hills. The mountains dominate most of the municipality including the Lekani mountains while the farmlands as well as the Philippi-Drama plain is to the northwest. Ftelia is a village in the Drama regional unit, in northeastern Greece. Its population is approximately 500 (2005 est.). Ftelia means "elm tree" in Greek. The village is situated 9k m to the south of the city of Drama in Macedonia, Greece. It is part of the municipality of Kalampaki. Many of the village's residents are descendants of Greeks who fled from the Northern Thrace region of Bulgaria during the Balkan Wars. Ftelia has a primary school.
