Ballycar Castle

Ballycar Castle stood in the parish of Newmarket-on-Fergus, near the road between Limerick and Galway, three miles from Sixmilebridge, nine from Limerick City, and seven from Ennis it was said to have been built before 1570 and was a ruin before 1681 when it was sketched by Thomas Dineley. {{#invoke:Footnotes|sfn}}{{#invoke:Footnotes|sfn}} Ballycar Castle was said to have been built by Connor McHugh-McLoghlin-McNamara, but does not appear among the list of castles in 1570.

N19 road (Ireland)

The N19 road is a national primary road in Ireland, connecting from the N18 Limerick–Ennis–Galway road to Shannon Airport. It forms part of European route E20. The route in its current form consists mostly of a dual-carriageway passing around Shannon Town, which starts at an interchange near Hurlers Cross on the N18 road. The dual-carriageway ends on the far side of Shannon Town at the Shannon Free Zone industrial estate, and proceeds as a two lane road to the airport.

Knappogue Castle

The Knappogue Castle & Walled Garden, built in 1467, is located in County Clare, Ireland. It was built by Seán Mac Conmara, and is a good example of a medieval tower house. It has a long and varied history, from a battlefield to a dwelling place. In 1571 the castle became the seat of the Mac Conmara sept, the Earls of West Clancullen. Donnchadh Mac Conmara was a leader of the Irish Rebellion of 1641 and Knappogue remained in Mac Conmara hands throughout the Irish Confederate Wars of the 1640s.
