Green Line (Israel)

Green Line refers to the demarcation lines set out in the 1949 Armistice Agreements between Israel and its neighbours after the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The Green Line is also used to mark the line between Israel and the territories captured in the Six-Day War, including the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Golan Heights and Sinai Peninsula (the last has since been returned to Egypt as part of the 1979 peace treaty).

Tell Beit Mirsim

Tell Beit Mirsim is an archaeological site in the West Bank. It was excavated between 1933–1936 by William F. Albright The site has "a town plan characteristic of the Kingdom of Judah that is also known from other sites" including, Beit Shemesh, Tell en-Nasbeh, Khirbet Qeiyafa and Beersheba. "A casemate wall was built at all of these sites and the city’s houses next to it incorporated the casemates as one of the dwelling’s rooms.

Anab

Anab is also the NATO reporting name for the Kaliningrad K-8 air-to-air missile. Anab is one of the cities in the mountains of Judah, from which Joshua expelled the Anakim . It still retains its ancient name. It lies among the hills, 10 miles south-south-west of Hebron.

Shekef

Shekef is a moshav in south-central Israel southeast of Kiryat Gat and west of Hebron and falls under the jurisdiction of Lakhish Regional Council. It was founded by the Herut movement with Betar and assistance from the Jewish Agency in 1981 as part of the Star Villages Plan of Ariel Sharon in an attempt to inhabit the region around the Green Line for the extension of Jewish settlement in the line between Mount Hebron.

Negohot

Negohot is an communal settlement and Israeli settlement in the southern Hebron Hills of the West Bank. It is located on a hill 700 metres above sea level to the west of the Hebron area, and is administered by the Har Hebron Regional Council. The nearest Israeli locality is Shekef, a moshav a few kilometres over the Green Line in the Hevel Lakhish area of the Shephelah.
