Sands of Samar
The Sands of Samar, also called the Samar sands or Samar sand dunes, are an expanse of sand dunes in the Arava region of southern Israel. Once encompassing an area of seven square kilometers, agricultural development and sand mining have reduced the sands to 2.3 square kilometers. In recent years environmentalists and local residents have campaigned to preserve what remain of the dunes.

Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve
The Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve is a 3,000-acre breeding and reacclimation center administered by the Israel Nature Reserves & National Parks Authority, situated in the Southern Arabah near Yotvata. The Yotvata Hai-Bar is the desert counterpart of the Carmel Hai-Bar Nature Reserve which operates in the country's Northern Mediterranean forest. Endangered and locally extinct animals mentioned in the Bible are bred here for possible reintroduction to the Negev desert.

Timna valley

Jotbathah
Jotbathah or "Jotbath" is one of the stops of the Israelites on the Exodus journey. It name may mean goodness derived from the Hebrew Jatahh or Tubb, implying therefore Good, both Natural and Moral. It was a land of brooks of water. It is possible that it is Yotvata or Sabkhat et-Taba and Bir et-Taba in the Arabah, a salt-marsh area, which may be the "brooks of water".

Abronah
According to the Book of Numbers, Abronah, sometimes "Ebronah", is one of the places the Israelites stopped at during the Exodus from Egypt, before Ezion-Geber. Its name means passage, and it is the passage from the mountains down to the sea overlooking Ezion Geber. In the book "Rivers in the Desert" Nelson Glueck reported it as Elats industrial city.
