Nahr al-Bared

Nahr al-Bared is a Palestinian refugee camp in northern Lebanon, 16 km from the city of Tripoli. Some 30,000 displaced Palestinians and their descendents live in and around the camp, which was named after the river that runs south of the camp. Under the terms of the 1969 Cairo Agreement, the Lebanese Army does not conventionally enter the Palestinian camps, and internal security is provided by Palestinian factions.

The Miniyeh-Danniyeh District is a district in the North Governorate of Lebanon. As it names indicates, the district includes the Dinniyeh region. In December 1999-January 2000 the Lebanese army and Islamist militants were involved in heavy fighting in the area.

Miniara (also transliterated Minyara) is a village in the District of Akkar, North Lebanon, 9 kilometers east of the Mediterranean Sea, and 3 kilometers south of Halba. The population is between 7,000 and 10,000. Miniara is the birthplace of Ibrahim BEIK El-SARRAF.
