Dakshinkali Temple
Dakshinkali Temple or Dakshin Kali Temple, located 22 kilometres outside Kathmandu and about 1 kilometre outside the village of Pharping, is one of the main temples of Nepal dedicated to the goddess Kali. Animal sacrifices, particularly of cockerels and uncastrated male goats, are the main way that the goddess is worshipped, and this is especially seen during the Dashain festival.

PIA Flight 268
Pakistan International Airlines Flight 268 was an Airbus A300B4-203, registration AP-BCP, which crashed on approach to Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport on 28 September 1992. All 167 on board were killed. It is the 100th aviation disaster with more than 100 fatalities. Flight 268 departed Karachi at 11:13 AM Pakistan Standard Time for Kathmandu. Upon contacting Nepalese air traffic control, the aircraft was cleared for an approach from the south called the Sierra approach.

Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground
Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Kirtipur, Nepal. The first recorded match held on the ground came in 1998 when Bangladesh played Papua New Guinea in the 1998 ACC Trophy. Nepal took part in the inaugural Intercontinental Cup, with the matches in the competition having first-class status. The ground held its first first-class match when Nepal hosted Malaysia.

The district, with Patan as its district headquarters, covers an area of 385 km² and has a population of 337,785. It is one of the three districts in the Kathmandu Valley, along with Kathmandu and Bhaktapur. Its population was 466,784 in the initial 2011 census tabulation.
