Waikato District
Waikato District is a territorial authority of New Zealand, in the northern part of Waikato Region, North Island. Waikato District is administered by the Waikato District Council, with headquarters in Ngaruawahia. The district is centred to the north and west of the city of Hamilton, and takes in much of the northern Waikato Plains and also the Hakarimata Range.

Taupiri
Taupiri is a small township of about 450 people on the eastern bank of the Waikato River in the Waikato District of New Zealand. It is overlooked by Taupiri mountain, the sacred burial ground for the Waikato tribes of the Māori people, located just to the north. Taupiri is located near the northern end of the Waikato Basin immediately south of the junction of the Mangawara Stream (which drains the northern part of the basin) and the Waikato River.

Mount Taupiri
Mount Taupiri is a hill at the southern end of the Taupiri Range in the Waikato. The highest peak in the range, it rises to 288 metres above sea level and overlooks Taupiri township immediately to its south. It is separated from the Hākarimata Range to the south by the Taupiri Gorge, through which the Waikato River flows from the Waikato Basin to the Lower Waikato. The Mangawara Stream joins the Waikato River at the base of the hill.

Tūrangawaewae
Tūrangawaewae Marae is a very significant marae of the Māori people of New Zealand and is the headquarters for the Māori King Movement (Te Kīngitanga). Located in the town of Ngāruawāhia in the Waikato region of the North Island, it is the official residence and reception centre of the head of the Kīngitanga (until her death on the 15 August 2006, Te Arikinui Dame Te Atairangikaahu, the sixth Māori monarch). She was succeeded by her eldest son, Tuheitia Paki.

Rototuna
Rototuna is a flat suburb in northern Hamilton, New Zealand, east of Flagstaff. It was built on what was previously the bed of an ancient lake of which Rototuna (eel lake) was a tiny remnant. It is one of the newest, and fastest-growing suburbs in Hamilton,although growth has slowed since the 2008-2011 recession. It features two shopping centres, one with a New World supermarket the other with a Countdown supermarket.
