The church is part of the Kjøllefjord parish in the Hammerfest deanery in the Diocese of Nord-Hålogaland. The white, stone church was designed by the architect Finn Bryn, and the building seats about 300 people. It was built in 1951 and it was a gift from Denmark after the Second World War.
