Saltnes, Østfold, Norway

Saltnes is a village in the municipality of Råde, Norway. Its population in 2008 was 2,132, of which 84 people live within the border of the neighboring municipality, Fredrikstad. Saltnes has grown from around 50 to almost 2000 inhabitants in only 36 years. Saltnes is becoming increasingly popular destination for vacations. Råde municipality reports that the population increases by some 500-1000 inhabitants during the summer vacation season because of all the summer cabins in the area.

Lervik

Engalsvik (also called Engelsviken) is a village in Fredrikstad municipality, Norway. As of 2003 it is considered by Statistics Norway as a part of the Greater Lervik area.

Elingård

Elingård is an estate and a former seat farm in Onsøy in Fredrikstad, Norway. The estate was owned by the Gyldenhorn family in the 15th century and of the Brockenhuus family in the 16th century. Chancellor of Norway Jens Bjelke acquired the estate through marriage with Sophie Brockenhuus in 1610, and it was later inherited by his son, Admiral Henrik Bjelke. Elingård burned down in 1645. In the 18th century the estate was transferred to the Huitfeldt family through marriage.

Larkollen

Larkollen is a village in Rygge municipality, Norway. Its population is 1,382. Larkollen was the landfall on the main route between Oslo (then Christiania) and Copenhagen for several centuries. The lee behind the islands Sletter, Eldøya and Kollen south and west of Larkollen was an easily accessible harbor in all kinds of wind, which also was easy to defend. Sometime in the early 19th century the landfall was moved north to Jeløya outside of Moss.
