Kidron Valley

The Kidron Valley is the valley on the eastern side of The Old City of Jerusalem, separating the Temple Mount from the Mount of Olives. It continues east through the Judean Desert, towards the Dead Sea, descending 4000 feet along its 20 mile course. The settlement Kedar, located on a ridge above the valley, is named after it. The neighborhood of Wadi Al-Joz bears the valley's Arabic name. The Bible calls the Valley "Valley of Jehoshaphat - Emek Yehoshafat.

Monastery of Martyrius

Mar Saba

The Great Lavra of St. Sabbas the Sanctified, known in Arabic as Mar Saba, is a Greek Orthodox monastery overlooking the Kidron Valley in the West Bank east of Bethlehem. The traditional date for the founding of the monastery by Saint Sabas of Mutalaska, Cappadocia is the year 483 and today houses around 20 monks. It is considered to be one of the oldest inhabited monasteries in the world, and still maintains many of its ancient traditions.

Yeshivat Birkat Moshe

Yeshivat Birkat Moshe is a hesder yeshiva located in the Mitzpeh Nevo neighborhood of Ma'ale Adumim in the West Bank. It was founded in 1977 by Rabbis Haim Sabato and Yitzchak Sheilat, then two young rabbis from Yeshivat HaKotel, in Jerusalem. For the first nine years since its inception it was situated in temporary structures the Maale Adumim's industrial zone Mishor Adummim, before moving to its current campus and location in Mitzpeh Nevo.

Jerusalem Governorate

The Jerusalem Governorate is one of 16 Palestinian governorates and is situated in the central portion of the West Bank. Its claimed capital is East Jerusalem, which is, however, under Israeli occupation and regarded by Israel as being part of its territory. The total land area of the governorate is 331.6 km. Also, Adnan al-Husayni, who is the governor has been appointed by the government since 2008.
