Damia Bridge

The Damia Bridge, also known as the Adam Bridge, is a bridge over the Jordan River between the West Bank and Jordan. It is about 50 km north of Jericho and is the location of an Israeli border checkpoint. In Operation Markolet (known as the Night of the bridges) on the night of 16-17 June 1946, the bridge was blown up by Haganah forces. Nearby, east of the river, is the small mound known as Tell Adamiyeh, which has long been identified as the site of the Biblical City of Adam.

City of Adam

The City of Adam stood "beside Zarethan" on the east bank of the Jordan, it is called also "Damia". According to the Book of Joshua, the flow of the water was arrested, and rose up "upon an heap" at the time of the Israelites' passing over. This village includes a number of families that belong to Abbad clans, such as Masalha and Ramadneh.

Masua

Masua is a moshav shitufi and Israeli settlement in the West Bank. Located in the Jordan Valley with an area of 6,000 dunams, it falls under the jurisdiction of Bik'at HaYarden Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 142. The village was established in 1969 as a Nahal settlement, and was converted to a civilian moshav by a HaOved HaTzioni gar'in five years later.

Bik'at HaYarden Regional Council

Bik'at HaYarden Regional Council, also Aravot HaYarden (lit. Jordan Plains) is a regional council covering 21 Israeli settlements in the Jordan Valley in the West Bank. The municipal territory of the council reaches from Mehola in the north, near the Beit She'an Valley, to Jericho in the south. Most of the settlements are located on the two major north-south roads traversing the council's territory. The Allon Road on the west and Highway 90 on the east.
