Castra of Cornuțel

The castra of Cornuțel was a fort in the Roman province of Dacia. It was erected in the 2nd century AD. The ruins of a nearby contemporary settlement were also unearthed. The castra and the settlement were abandoned in the 3rd century AD. The ruins of the fort are located in Cornuţel.

Buchin

Buchin is a commune in Caraş-Severin County, western Romania with a population of 2,147 people. It is composed of five villages: Buchin, Lindenfeld, Poiana (Sebesmező), Prisian (Perestyén) and Valea Timișului (Körpa). Lindenfeld village has been depopulated since 1998.

Caransebeș Airport

Caransebeș Airport is located 1.8 km east northeast of Caransebeş in western Romania, in Caraş-Severin county. A former military base, CSB is the only commercial airport in Romania not located in the proximity of a large urban area. Currently there is no regular service to this airport. In 1994 TAROM suspended its direct flights from Bucharest, and in 2002 the airport was bought by a private company. Since the airport sale, Aeroclubul României operates here, mostly for general aviation.
