Freidorf

Freidorf (German for "free village"; Hungarian: Szabadfalu) is a former village, since 1950 a district of the city of Timişoara, Romania. The famous swimmer Johnny Weissmuller, later famous for playing the role of Tarzan, was born there; he emigrated to the United States as an infant, before the age of 1. Freidorf maintains a beautiful architecture, old German style homes, and many green spaces.

Iosefin Synagogue

The Iosefin Synagogue (the Orthodox Temple) is a synagogue located in Iosefin, a neighbourhood of Timişoara, Romania. Built in 1910, it is the newest of the city's three synagogues, and the last still functioning. The synagogue was originally used for Orthodox Jewish believers and its more famous rabbis between the world wars were the rabbis Schick senior and junior. A Jewish primary school and kindergarten operated in the yard.

Peciu Nou

Peciu Nou is a commune in Timiş County, Romania. It is composed of three villages: Diniaș (Torontáldinnyés; Дињаш), Peciu Nou and Sânmartinu Sârbesc (Szerbszentmárton; Српски Семартон). At the 2002 census, 75.6% of inhabitants were Romanians, 18.5% Serbs, 2.3% Hungarians, 1.6% Ukrainians, 1.1% Germans and 0.9% Roma. 87.1% were Romanian and Serbian Orthodox, 5.9% Pentecostal, 3.4% Roman Catholic and 1.6% Greek-Catholic.

Stadionul Dan Păltinișanu

Dan Păltinișanu Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Timişoara, Romania. It is currently used mostly for football matches by the local team, Politehnica Timişoara. The stadium is named after Politehnica Timișoara's legend Dan Păltinișanu who played 271 matches in 10 years for the club and scored very important goals, including the qualification goal in UEFA Cup against Celtic and Atlético Madrid. He is considered the best Centre back who ever played for Poli.
