Verkhnyaya Vereya

Verkhnyaya Vereya is a rural locality under the administrative jurisdiction of the work settlement of Vilya in jurisdiction of the town of oblast significance of Vyksa in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. The village largely burned down on July 29, 2010 due to the wildfires which broke down across European Russia. All 341 houses were destroyed; 580 people were evacuated to nearby Vyksa.

Savasleyka (air base)

Savasleyka is an air base in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. It is located near the village of Savasleyka in Kulebaksky District, between the towns of Vyksa (which is 16 km southwest of the airfield), Kulebaki (some 10 km to the east of the base) and Navashino (some 10 km to the northwest of the airfield). The name of the base is also often transcribed into English as Savasleika; sometimes it is misspelled as Savastleyka or Savostleyka.
