Rudnya is a town and the administrative center of Rudnyansky District of Smolensk Oblast, Russia, located on the Malaya Berezina River 68 kilometers northwest of Smolensk. Population: 10,030; 9,853; 11,032. It was first mentioned in 1363 as a settlement of Rodnya. It was granted town status in 1926.
