Dudváh

Dudváh (Hungarian: Dudvág) is a lowland river in western Slovakia. It is 97 km long, with a basin of 1,507 km², and with a flow of 1.3 m³/s near the village of Siladice. Its source is located in the Čachtice Little Carpathians, and it mostly runs in parallel to the Váh river. Dudváh flows into the old branch of the Čierna Voda river, which in turn flows into the Little Danube river.

Galanta District

Galanta District (okres Galanta) is a district in the Trnava Region of western Slovakia. The district lies on the lowland area. Through the district area flows River Váh and its level is regulated by dam in Kráľová nad Váhom. Historically the economy of the district area had relied on agriculture, now the production of white goods is of utmost importance. The district center is its largest town Galanta and there are 36 municipalities, in three of them are towns.

Renaissance castle in Galanta

The Renaissance castle (also known as Renaissance manor house) is one of two most important historical buildings of Galanta along with the Neo-Gothic castle. Originally, a residency of the Esterházy family, it nowadays serves as a part of the regional museum in Slovakia. Its groundfloor serves as place for holding wedding ceremonies and for mayors representational activities, the basement hosts culture and social activities, and the first floor serves as gallery and for museum purposes.

Danubian Flat

The Danubian Flat, also translated as Danubian Plain, is the south-western, more flat, part of the Danubian Lowland in Slovakia. The border with the Danubian Hills runs approx. along the line Bratislava – Senec – Sereď – Nové Zámky – Patince. It has been formed by the arms of the Danube and by the southern Váh, Nitra and Žitava rivers. It is filled with huge layers of gravel from the Danube and other rivers of the area. These Danubian gravels are covered with loess and other very fertile soils.
