Homs Gap

The Homs Gap (also called the Akkar Gap) is a relatively flat passage in the Orontes River Valley of southern Syria. Nicknamed the "gateway to Syria," the gap separates the An-Nusayriyah Mountains and Jebel Zawiyah from the Lebanon and Anti-Lebanon mountains. The small Nahr al-Kabir river runs down the Gap to the Syrian coast to the Mediterranean Sea.

Wadi International University, commonly referred to as the German Syrian University, is a private, internationally oriented university, located in Wadi al-Nadara in Syria. WIU is widely considered one of the most prestigious and selective private universities in Syria. Saint George's Monastery, Homs

Saint George Monastery or Deir Mar Georges is a historic Antiochian Orthodox monastery located in northwestern Syria's "Valley of the Christians" (وادي النصارة, Wadi al-Nasara) in the town of Meshtaye, a village belonging to the Homs Governorate, just a few kilometers north of the famous castle Krak des Chevaliers. The valley is a regional center of Greek Orthodox Christianity since the 6th century.
