Istanbul Hezarfen Airfield

Istanbul Hezarfen Airfield (Turkish: İstanbul Hezarfen Havaalanı) is a privately owned airport for general aviation located in Çatalca district of Istanbul, Turkey. The facility, one of the four airports in Istanbul, is named after Hezârfen Ahmed Çelebi, an Ottoman scientist, who had crossed the Bosporus flying in the 17th century as told by a contemporary historian.

Silivri Prison

Silivri Prison or officially Silivri Penitentiaries Campus (Turkish: Silivri Ceza İnfaz Kurumları Kampüsü) is a high-security state correctional institution complex in the Silivri district of Istanbul Province in Turkey. Established in 2008, it is the country's most modern and Europe's largest penal facility. As of June 5, 2008, a total of 96,760 defendants and convicts were detained in Turkey.

Lake Büyükçekmece

Lake Büyükçekmece is a liman, formed at the point, where the river Karasudere flows into the Marmara Sea. Located in the south of Çatalca district west of Istanbul, Turkey, it is used as a freshwater reservoir. The lake's bar was reinforced in 1988 by a dam. The area of the lake is 28.47 km, it is 7 km long and 2 km wide. The maximum depth is 8.6 m following deepening works carried out by the State Hydraulic Works.
