Marshintsy is one of the Romanian speaking villages of the Novoselytskyi Raion of Chernivtsi Oblast in western Ukraine (the historical region of Bukovina). Sofia Rotaru was born in Marshintsy in 1947.

Tarasivtsi

Tarasivtsi is a village in Ukraine in the Novoselytsia Raion, Chernivtsi Oblast. The population of the village is more than 5000 people, of which 95% are ethnic Romanians and Moldovans. Tarasivtsi is notable as the only place in Ukraine where the Moldovan (Romanian) language has been designated as a regional language. This occurred after Ukraine permitted regional languages to be designated in August 2012 .

Hertsa

Hertsa is a city located in Chernivtsi Oblast in western Ukraine. It is the administrative center of Hertsa Raion. {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:48|9|N|26|15|E|region:UA_type:city|| |primary |name= }} The city is the smallest raion administrative center in Ukraine and is located close to the Romanian border. Until 1992 Hertsa was part of Hlyboka Raion.

Okopy, Ternopil Oblast

Okopy is a village (selo) in western Ukraine. It is located in the Borshchiv Raion of the Ternopil Oblast, and had its origins as a Polish fortress at the meeting of the Zbruch and Dniester rivers. The current estimated population is around 557 (as of 2005).
