Marianivka (village)

Marianivka is a village in the Kiev Oblast of central Ukraine. Marianivka is known for being the birthplace of Ivan Kozlovsky. It has a music school built by him in 1970. Village Mar'yanivka was founded in the 12th century. The first inhabitants settled on the flow of the river Ros’ - Rotok. Previously, Ros’ was Rotok tributary run through the modern village Marianivka. From year to year Rotok became shallow and turned into a swamp.

Vasylkiv (air base)

Vasylkiv (also Vasyl'kiv and Vasil'kov) is an interceptor aircraft base since the Cold War in Kiev Oblast, Ukraine located 7 km north of Vasylkiv. It is a medium-sized fighter base with numerous revetments. Units stationed at Vasylkiv include the 146th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment (146 Gv IAP) flying 41 MiG-25PD (Foxbat) aircraft. The regiment arrived at the base in 1950.

Belgorod Kievsky

Bilhorod Kyivsky (Ukrainian: Білгород Київський; Russian: Белгород Киевский, Belgorod Kievsky) was a city-castle of Kievan Rus' on the right bank of Irpin River. The city was quite prominent in the 10th-12th centuries but ceased to exist after 1240 destruction of Kiev by the Mongols. Currently there is a small village of Bilohorodka, Kiev Oblast near the location of the defunct city. The city is first mentioned in chronicles in 980. In 991 Vladimir I of Kiev built there his castle.
