Kremenets

Kremenets is a city in the Ternopil Oblast of western Ukraine. It is the administrative center of the Kremenets Raion, and rests 18 km north-east of the great Pochayiv Monastery. The city is situated in the historic region of Volhynia.

Kremenets Castle

Kremenets Castle is situated in the city of Kremenets, Ukraine. The castle was built out of limestone on a steep hill. The keep located on its west side, and its width was 65 metres and length of 135 metres . All the elevation was surrounded by a tall stone wall, and in the earlier ages of 13th century wood as building material was used instead. The castle is known as an impregnable citadel that had been tried by many as \t1226 Hungarian king Andrew the Second, \t1240 – 1241 Batu Khan.

Popivtsi

Popivtsi is a village (selo) in Brodivskyi Raion, Lviv Oblast, in western Ukraine. From 1918 to 1939 the village was in Tarnopol Voivodeship in Poland. Popivtsi also is the administrative center of the local rural council that includes five villages including Popivtsi. The other villages are Horbanivka, Dudyn, Nemyach, and Shpaky. The total population of those five villages is 1,722 over 32626 km.

Pochayiv Lavra

Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra (Ukrainian: Свято-Успенська Почаївська Лавра; Russian: Свято-Успенская Почаевская Лавра) has for centuries been the foremost spiritual and ideological centre of various Orthodox denominations in Western Ukraine. The monastery tops a 60-metre hill in the town of Pochayiv, Ternopil Oblast, 18 km southwest of Kremenets and 50 km north of Ternopil.
