Brown Edge, Staffordshire

Brown Edge is a village and civil parish in the Staffordshire Moorlands district of Staffordshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 2,406. The village is on the fringe of The Potteries Urban Area, and is about 5 miles north-east of Hanley in Stoke-on-Trent.

Caldon Canal

The Caldon Canal (or more properly, the Caldon Branch of the Trent & Mersey Canal), opened in 1779, runs 18 miles from Etruria, in Stoke-on-Trent where it leaves the Trent and Mersey Canal at the summit level, to Froghall, Staffordshire. The canal has 17 locks and the 69 metre long Froghall Tunnel.

Horton, Staffordshire

Horton is a village and civil parish in the English county of Staffordshire. It is situated about 3 miles (5 km) W of Leek. Horton Hall is a Jacobean manor house, built on the site of an earlier house dating back to the 12th Century. It was in the ownership of the Edge family from the 1330s until 1710. It was damaged in the English Civil War, and rebuilt by Timothy Edge from 1653; his initials with the date occur on the lintel of the gateway in the garden.

Cheddleton Flint Mill

Cheddleton Flint Mill is a water mill situated in the village of Cheddleton in the English county of Staffordshire. The mill was built to grind flint for use in the pottery industry. The mill complex includes two separate water mills, a miller's cottage, two flint kilns, a drying kiln and outbuildings, and is adjacent to the Caldon Canal. The complex has been restored and is now maintained and operated by the Cheddleton Flint Mill Industrial Heritage Trust.

Norton United F.C

Norton United F.C. is a football club based in Smallthorne, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. They were established in 1989 and joined the Staffordshire Senior League in the same year. They were the Midland League champions three times and are members of the North West Counties Football League Premier Division.
