Kirkby Lonsdale

Kirkby Lonsdale is a small town and civil parish in the South Lakeland district of Cumbria, England, on the River Lune. Historically within Westmorland, it is situated 13 miles south east of Kendal along the A65. The parish had a population of 1,771 recorded in the 2001 census. Notable buildings include St Mary's Church, a Norman structure with fine carved columns.

Nether Burrow

Nether Burrow is a small hamlet in the Lunesdale Valley of North Lancashire. It is a small drive through settlement on the banks of the picturesque River Lune. There is not much there but there is a pub called the Highwayman Inn. It is on the A683 road between Lancaster and Kirkby Lonsdale. It forms part of the civil parish with the unusual name of Burrow-with-Burrow.

Rumbling Hole

Rumbling Hole is one of the many fenced-off sinkholes near the road on Leck Fell, Lancashire, England. The entrance shaft is approximately 50 metres deep and often has a small waterfall cascading down the side opposite the three trees that grow at the edge of the vertical shaft, one of which provides a convenient belay point for the entrance pitch.
