Illingworth St Mary's Cricket Club

Illingworth St Mary's Cricket Club is a cricket club based in Illingworth, 3 miles north of Halifax in West Yorkshire, England. They play in the Airedale-Wharfedale Senior Cricket League, as well as the Halifax League Sunday Section. The club was established in 1884 and will shortly be celebrating its 125th anniversary.

Scout Hall

Scout Hall (also known as Scote Hall) at Shibden near Halifax, West Yorkshire, England, was built in 1681 for John Mitchell (1659–1696), who had inherited great wealth as a silk merchant. Mitchell was castigated by the preacher Oliver Heywood for his dissolute way of life, spending his money on horse racing and drink. The house is a 'calendar' building, supposedly of 12 bays, with 52 doors and 365 panes of glass. It is Grade II* listed but is on the English Heritage 'buildings at risk' list.

Akroydon

The Akroydon model housing scheme is a Victorian era model village at Boothtown, Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. It was designed in the Gothic style by George Gilbert Scott in 1859 for the workers at the mills of Edward Akroyd. Edward Akroyd had bought the 62,435 acres of land in 1855. Scott's original plan to have dormer windows in the cottages was unacceptable to members of the Akroyd Town Building Association, and Akroyd employed local architect – W. H.

Dean Clough

Dean Clough in Halifax, Calderdale, West Yorkshire, England is a group of large factory buildings built in the 1840s–60s for Crossley's Carpets, becoming one of the world's largest carpet factories (half a mile long with 1,250,000 square feet of floorspace). After years of declining production it closed in 1983, when it was bought by a consortium led by Sir Ernest Hall which developed the Grade II listed site for various commercial and cultural uses.
