Aston Park, Flintshire

Aston Park, also known as Aston, is a small, residential village in Flintshire, North Wales. It is near to Hawarden and Shotton, alongside the A494 road, and it is often incorrectly referred to as Higher Shotton. It is situated in a fairly urban area but there is still a lot of countryside - Wepre Country Park is only a short distance away. In the village there are some shops, a hairdresser, an Indian takeaway, a bowling green, a park, a primary school and a hospital, Deeside Community Hospital.

John Summers High School

John Summers High School (formerly Deeside High School) is an English medium mixed comprehensive secondary school in the town of Queensferry, Wales, near the border with England. It teaches children aged 11-18. Sixth form education, (16-18), was provided through the Deeside Consortium, a group of three local high schools and the nearby sixth form college although Deeside College has now withdrawn from this consortium. Its Local Education Authority is Flintshire County Council.

A494 road

The A494 is an important trunk road in Wales. The road runs between "Drome Corner" at the intersection of the A548 and A550 by RAF Sealand, Queensferry and the A470 at Dolgellau, Gwynedd.

Deeside Leisure Centre

Deeside Leisure Centre is a sports centre in Queensferry, Flintshire, in Wales. Its facilities include Deeside Ice Rink, an Olympic-sized inline hockey rink, badminton courts and squash courts. The ice rink is the National Centre for Ice Sports in Wales and is home to the ice hockey teams the Flintshire Freeze and the Flintshire Phantoms.

Shotton railway station

Shotton railway station serves the town of Shotton, Flintshire, Wales. It is situated where the Borderlands Line crosses the North Wales Coast Line. All passenger services are operated by Arriva Trains Wales, which manages the station. Shotton is split into two sections: a High Level on the Borderlands Line; and a Low level on the North Wales Coast Line. Each level has two side platforms and are double tracked. The station is staffed on weekdays and Saturday mornings only.
