Loch Mhòr

Loch Mhòr is a loch in the traditional county of Inverness-shire in the Scottish Highlands. It occupies much of the wide floor of Stratherrick which runs roughly parallel to Loch Ness around 3mi / 5km to its southeast. A generally shallow body of water, Loch Mhòr achieves a depth in excess of 20m towards its southern end. Loch Mhòr was originally two separate lochs, Loch Garth in the southwest and Loch Farraline in the northeast.

Stratherrick

Stratherrick (Scottish Gaelic: Srath Fhairgeag / Srath Fharragaig) is a strath situated above the south-eastern shore of Loch Ness, in the Scottish Highlands, Scotland. Much of the strath is covered by Loch Mhòr. This is a generally shallow loch, which acts as a reservoir for the Foyers hydro electricity scheme. The area has a number of small settlements, these include Whitebridge, Gorthleck, Aberchalder and Errogie. Stratherrick Primary School is in Gorthleck.

Dunmaglass, Scotland

Dunmaglass is a shooting estate of about 14,000 acres in the Monadhliath Mountains of Scotland. It is located around 15 miles south of Inverness. It is currently owned by property developer Sir Jack Arnold Hayward, former chairman of Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. Dunmaglass is known for shooting of pheasant, grouse, duck and sometimes hare. Dunmaglass is also the historical seat of Clan MacGillivray.

Loch Killin

Loch Killin is a small loch in the Monadhliath Mountains, in Highland, Scotland. It is about 1.2 miles long, and is one of numerous small lochs close to the southern end of Loch Ness, the southernmost point of which lies nine miles to the west. The waters of Loch Killin are home to the Haddy charr, a species of char named after this loch. It is endemic to this lake as well as Loch Doine, and possibly Loch Builg. The ship HMS Loch Killin was named after the loch.
