Pliska

Pliska is the name of both the first capital of Danubian Bulgaria and a small town (a former village known as Aboba) which was renamed after the historical Pliska after its site was determined and excavations began.

Tsarev Brod

Tsarev Brod (Bulgarian: Царев брод; also transliterated Carev Brod, Tzarev Brod, Zarev Brod, "royal ford") is a village in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Shumen municipality, Shumen Province. As of 2008, it has a population of 1,344 and the mayor is Stefan Zhivkov. The village lies at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:43|20|N|27|01|E||| | |name= }}, 224 metres above mean sea level in the eastern stretches of the Danubian Plain. Until 1934, its name was Endzhe or Enidzhe.

Hitrino

Hitrino is a village in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Shumen Province. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Hitrino Municipality, which lies in the northwestern part of Shumen Province. Hitrino is located in the northeastern Ludogorie, equally outlying from the Black Sea and the Danube, 20 kilometres from the provincial capital of Shumen. The village is a railway station on the Varna-Rousse line and lies on the main road between Silistra and Shumen.

Madara Rider

The Madara Rider or Madara Horseman (Bulgarian: Мадарски конник, Madarski konnik) is an early medieval large rock relief carved on the Madara Plateau east of Shumen in northeastern Bulgaria, near the village of Madara. The monument is dated to about 710 AD and has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979. The relief depicts a majestic horseman 23 m above ground level in an almost vertical 100 m -high cliff.
