Piikkiö

Piikkiö, is a former municipality of Finland. Piikkiö was consolidated with Kaarina on January 1, 2009. It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Finland Proper region. The municipality had a population of 6,836 (2004-12-31) and covered an area of 90.35 km² (excluding sea) of which 0.07 km² is inland water. The population density was 75.72 inhabitants per km². The municipality was almost unilingually Finnish.

Kuusisto Castle

. Kuusisto Castle was a medieval episcopal castle on an island of Kuusisto in Kaarina, Finland, near Turku. The castle was probably built in the early 14th century, although the site seems to have been bishop's residence already in the 1290s. The castle was ordered to be demolished during the Protestant Reformation in 1528 by the king Gustav I of Sweden. Excavation and reconstruction work on the remaining ruins began in 1891.

Tuorla Observatory

Tuorla Observatory is the Department of Astronomy at the University of Turku, southwest Finland. It is the largest astronomical research institute in Finland. Together with the Space Research Laboratory at the Physics Department of the University of Turku, it forms Väisälä Institute of Space Physics and Astronomy (VISPA).

Kevola Observatory

The Kevola Observatory is located in Kevola in Paimio in South-Western Finland, some 35 km east from the city of Turku. The observatory is currently owned by Turun Ursa ry, a local astronomical association operating in Turku area. The buildings of the observatory include an observatory dome, a zenith observatory, and a house for recording observations. Kevola Observatory is listed in the IAU list of observatory codes with code 64.

Littoinen

Littoinen is a village in south-western Finland, centred around Lake Littoinen. The village is shared between the town of Kaarina and the municipality of Lieto, and it borders the regional centre of Turku. It started growing after the founding of a broadcloth factory by Lake Littoinen in 1739, and the railway connection built in 1899 increased its growth.
