Leivonmäki

Leivonmäki is a former municipality of Finland. It became a part of Joutsa in 2008. It is known for its marshy grounds and its national park. First inhabitants are mentioned in 1564. It has been a municipality since 1870. It is located 40 kilometres south-east from Jyväskylä in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Central Finland region. The municipality has a population of 1,162 (2003) and covers an area of 409.97 km² of which 29.17 km² is water.

Säynätsalo Town Hall

The Säynätsalo Town Hall is a multifunction building complex – town hall, shops, library and flats – designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto for the municipality of Säynätsalo (merged with the municipality of Jyväskylä in 1993) in Central Finland. Aalto received the commission after a design contest in 1949, and the building was completed in December 1951.
