Arabah

The Arabah, also known as Aravah, is a section of the Jordan Rift Valley running in a north-south orientation between the southern end of the Sea of Galilee (as the Jordan river valley) down to the Dead Sea and continuing further south where it ends at the Gulf of Aqaba. Ad Deir

Ad Deir is a monumental building carved out of rock in the ancient Jordanian city of Petra. Built by the Nabataeans in the 1st century and measuring 50 metres wide by approximately 45 meters high, architecturally the Monastery is an example of the Nabatean Classical style. Mount Hor

Mount Hor is the name given in the Old Testament to two distinct mountains. One is in the Land of Edom on the East shore of the Dead Sea (currently, the country of Jordan), the other by the Mediterranean Sea at the Northern border of the Land of Israel.

Ein Yahav Airfield

Ein Yahav Airfield, officially known as Sapir Airfield (מנחת ספיר), is a small desert airfield in southern Israel's Arabah between the Dead Sea and Eilat. The airfield is located across Highway 90 from Sapir, and not far from Ein Yahav. Sapir, Israel

Sapir is a communal settlement near Route 90 in southern Israel. It belongs to the Central Arava Regional Council. It was founded in 1978 and is named after Pinchas Sapir. The settlement, which was planned by the architect Gershon Tzippor, was founded primarily to provide housing for municipal workers of the regional council. As time passed, its nature changed. As of 2006 it houses mostly people of various professions, as opposed to other settlements of the Arava, which mostly do agriculture.
