Sapir, Israel
Sapir is a communal settlement near Route 90 in southern Israel. It belongs to the Central Arava Regional Council. It was founded in 1978 and is named after Pinchas Sapir. The settlement, which was planned by the architect Gershon Tzippor, was founded primarily to provide housing for municipal workers of the regional council. As time passed, its nature changed. As of 2006 it houses mostly people of various professions, as opposed to other settlements of the Arava, which mostly do agriculture.

Ein Yahav Airfield
Ein Yahav Airfield, officially known as Sapir Airfield (מנחת ספיר), is a small desert airfield in southern Israel's Arabah between the Dead Sea and Eilat. The airfield is located across Highway 90 from Sapir, and not far from Ein Yahav. Arabah
The Arabah, also known as Aravah, is a section of the Jordan Rift Valley running in a north-south orientation between the southern end of the Sea of Galilee (as the Jordan river valley) down to the Dead Sea and continuing further south where it ends at the Gulf of Aqaba. It includes most of the border between Israel to the west and Jordan to the east.
