St. George's Monastery (Wadi Qelt)
St. George Orthodox Monastery, or Monastery of St. George of Koziba is a monastery located in Wadi Qelt, in the eastern West Bank. The sixth-century cliff-hanging complex, with its ancient chapel and gardens, is active and inhabited by Greek Orthodox monks. It is reached by a pedestrian bridge across the Wadi Qelt, which many imagine to be Psalm 23's Valley of the Shadow. The valley parallels the old Roman road to Jericho, the backdrop for the parable of the Good Samaritan .

Wadi Qelt
Wadi Qelt or Nahal Prat is a valley or stream running west to east across the Judean desert in the West Bank, originating near Jerusalem and terminating near Jericho, near the Dead Sea. It is home to a variety of fauna including hyraxes to gazelles, to the Greek Orthodox Monastery Saint George, and to the oldest Jewish synagogue in the world and has been identified with the biblical "prat" mentioned in Jeremiah 13:5.

Achor
Achor is the name of a valley in the vicinity of Jericho. Eusebius (in Onomasticon) and Jerome (in Book of Sites and Names of Hebrew Places) implied that they thought it was a valley north of Jericho. In the nineteenth century some writers identified the valley with the wadi al-Qelt, a deep ravine located to Jericho's south. In the twentieth century the Hyrcania valley (El-Buqei'a in Arabic) west and south of Qumran, and Wadi en-Nu'eima have also been suggested.

Vered Yeriho
Vered Yeriho is a moshav and Israeli settlement near Jericho in the Jordan valley in the West Bank. It belongs to the Megilot Regional Council. The community was founded in 1979 as a result of the dissociation of the secular nucleus from the religious nucleus in Mitzpe Yeriho, a nearby settlement to the west of Vered Yeriho. The moshav is located on a hill overlooking the Akabat Jabar refugee camp and Jericho.
