Windsor Dam
Windsor Dam was originally build to control flooding of Ladysmith, in KwaZulu-Natal by the Klip River, but silt buildup quickly reduced its efficiency. The Windsor Dam was commissioned in 1950, has a capacity of 772 cubic metres, and a surface area of 0.826 square kilometres, the dam wall is 17 metres high. The Qedusizi Dam further downstream in the Klip River was completed in 1997 to take over the task of flood management.

Spion Kop Battlefield Memorials

Battle of Spion Kop
The Battle of Spion Kop (Dutch: Slag bij Spionkop; Afrikaans: Slag van Spioenkop) was fought about 38 km west-south-west of Ladysmith on the hilltop of Spioenkop along the Tugela River, Natal in South Africa from 23–24 January 1900. It was fought between the South African Republic and the Orange Free State on the one hand and British forces during the Second Boer War during the campaign to relieve Ladysmith and resulted in a British defeat.
