Interesting facts about this location

Maslak

Maslak is one of the main business districts of Sarıyer, Istanbul, Turkey, located on the European side of the city. It was formerly an exclave of the municipality of Şişli, though being far north and actually closer to the municipalities of Sarıyer and Beşiktaş. Therefore, a legislation was approved by the Interior Commission of the Turkish Parliament on October 18, 2012, that shifted the jurisdiction of the Maslak district from Şişli to Sarıyer.

Darüşşafaka High School

Darüşşafaka High School is one of the most prominent and influential schools of Turkey and is located in Maslak, Istanbul. The school was founded by the Darüşşafaka Association with the name "Islamic Education Association" in 1873. This date is controversial, with some sources claiming it was 1872. However, there is a consensus that the school started formal education in 1873 in the Fatih region of Istanbul, and gained its first graduates in 1881.

Ayhan Şahenk Arena

Ayhan Şahenk Arena is an indoor arena located in Istanbul, Turkey. The arena mostly hosts basketball games and is the home arena of Darüşşafaka Cooper Tires, Galatasaray women's basketball team, Galatasaray Café Crown and Efes Pilsen basketball teams.
