A594 road (Cumbria)

The A594 is a main road in Cumbria, that runs between the A596 in Maryport and the A595 on the outskirts of Cockermouth. Its total length is around 6 miles . Curiously, the inner ring road in Leicester is also numbered as the A594. The original route of the A594 was from Maryport to Penrith via Cockermouth, Keswick, Threlkeld, Penruddock and Greystoke. This route is now mostly parts of the A66, A591, A5271 and the B5288 roads.

Crosby, Cumbria

Crosby is a small village in Cumbria, England, three miles north-east of Maryport on the A596 road. It has a population of approximately 1000. The local primary school is Crosscanonby St. John's Church of England School. River Cocker, Cumbria

The River Cocker is a river in the Lake District in North West England, in the county of Cumbria. Its source is at the head of the Buttermere valley. It flows north through Buttermere and then Crummock Water, through Lorton Vale, to the town of Cockermouth, where it joins the River Derwent. It is roughly 12 miles long. The river takes its name from the Brythonic Celtic word "kukrā", meaning 'the crooked one.

Cockermouth (C&W) railway station

The original Cockermouth railway station was situated on the Cockermouth & Workington Railway and served the town of Cockermouth, Cumbria. The station opened on 28 April 1847, and closed on 2 January 1865. The station was replaced by the Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway station when the line was extended on a different alignment.
