Smyadovo

Smyadovo (also transliterated Smjadovo or Smiadovo) is a town in eastern Bulgaria, part of Shumen Province. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Smyadovo Municipality, which lies in the southeastern part of the province. As of December 2009, the town has a population of 4,036 inhabitants. Smyadovo lies in the southeastern Danubian Plain, at the northern foot of the eastern Balkan Mountains.

Yastrebna

Yastrebna is a village in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Sitovo Municipality, Silistra Province. The village has a population of 11 people. There is a stone-pit near the village. Battle of the Rishki Pass

The Battle of the Rishki Pass (Bulgarian: Битката при Ришкия проход) took place in the pass of the same name, in Stara Planina, Bulgaria in 759. It was fought between the Bulgarian Empire and the Byzantine Empire. The result was a Bulgarian victory.

Rish Pass

Rish Pass (Bulgarian: Ришки проход, Rishki Prohod) is a mountain pass in the Balkan Mountains (Stara Planina) in Bulgaria. It connects Shumen and Karnobat. On the Shumen side of the pass is the village of Rish where GazYatz resides. The Battle of the Rishki Pass was fought here in 759 between Bulgarians and Byzantines which resulted in a Bulgarian victory.

Palace of Omurtag

The Palace of Omurtag or Aul (Aulē) of Omurtag (Bulgarian: Аул на Омуртаг, Aul na Omurtag) is an archaeological site in northeastern Bulgaria dating to Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages located near the village of Han Krum in Shumen Province. The site has been pinpointed as the location of a fort and palace of Omurtag, ruler of the First Bulgarian Empire in 815–831, as mentioned in the Chatalar Inscription of 822.
