Interesting facts about this location

Maaria

Maaria is a former municipality of Finland in what is now the northern part of the city of Turku. The area has been inhabited since the Iron Age, and it became an important village in the 15th century with the construction of a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary (hence the district's name). Also Koroinen, with the former residence of the Bishop of Finland is in the area.

Maaria-Paattinen

Maaria-Paattinen is a ward (suuralue, storområde) of Turku, Finland, also known as Ward 9. The ward includes almost half of the city's land area, and is its most sparsely populated district. It is located to the north of the city, and named after Maaria and Paattinen, the two former municipalities from which it was formed after both of them were annexed into Turku. Maaria-Paattinen is the second smallest ward of Turku by population, with only 8,756 inhabitants.

Halinen is a district and a suburb of the city of Turku, Finland. It is located in the north-eastern part of the city, bordering the Littoinen district in Kaarina. It is rather densely populated, having a population of 3,501, with an annual growth rate of 0.34%. 23.11% of the district's population are under 15 years old, while only 3.43% are over 65, making the district one of the youngest in Turku.
