Vaajakoski is a district of Jyväskylä, Finland and the centre of Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward. It is located seven kilometres from the city centre on the Northern end of lake Päijänne, where it is bordered by Jyskä to the west, Sulunperä and Kaunisharju to the north, Tölskä to the west and Haapaniemi to the south. As of July 2011 the population of Vaajakoski-Jyskä was 14.588. In spoken language the name Vaajakoski is used to describe big parts of Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward. The Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward is divided into 12 different neighbourhoods.

Leppävesi
Leppävesi is the 65th (63.59 km²) largest lake of Finland in municipalities Jyväskylä, Laukaa and Toivakka. It flows to Päijänne via Vaajavirta. It's part of Keitele Canal, waterway connecting Lake Keitele and Päijänne. National road 9 and Pieksämäki–Jyväskylä railway cross it.
