Vaajakoski

Vaajakoski is a district of Jyväskylä, Finland and the centre of Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward. It is located seven kilometres from the city centre on the Northern end of lake Päijänne, where it is bordered by Jyskä to the west, Sulunperä and Kaunisharju to the north, Tölskä to the west and Haapaniemi to the south. As of January 2012 the population of Vaajakoski district was 1503. In spoken language the name Vaajakoski is used to describe big parts of Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward.

Jyväskylän maalaiskunta

Jyväskylän maalaiskunta, 'The Rural Municipality of Jyväskylä' is a former municipality of Finland. Together with Korpilahti, Jyväskylän maalaiskunta was consolidated with Jyväskylä on January 1, 2009. It was the last municipality to carry the name maalaiskunta. Jyväskylän maalaiskunta had three population centres: Vaajakoski, Tikkakoski and Palokka. Jyväskylä Airport in Tikkakoski is one of the busiest in Finland. On September 1, 2008 Jyväskylän maalaiskunta had 36,389 inhabitants.

Leppävesi

Leppävesi is the 65th (63.59 km²) largest lake of Finland in municipalities Jyväskylä, Laukaa and Toivakka. It flows to Päijänne via Vaajavirta. It's part of Keitele Canal, waterway connecting Lake Keitele and Päijänne. National road 9 and Pieksämäki–Jyväskylä railway cross it.

Kanavuori

Kanavuori is a district, a hill and a nature reserve in Jyväskylä, Finland. It is a part of Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward. It is located at around 10 kilometres from the city centre on the shores of Vaajavirta river between lake Päijänne and lake Leppävesi. There were 738 inhabitants in Kanavuori as of 31 December 2007.

Taulumäki Church

Taulumäki Church is the principal Lutheran church in Jyväskylä, the administrative centre of the Central Finland region. Designed by architect Elsi Borg (1893–1958), its construction began in 1928. The church was inaugurated on October 27, 1929, and replaces the 1885 church designed by Ludvig Isak Lindqvist, which had burned down on January 27, 1918. The church has frescoes on Biblical themes — Lapsi on meille syntynyt and Se on täytetty — painted by Paavo Leinonen.
