Vaajakoski

Vaajakoski is a district of Jyväskylä, Finland and the centre of Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward. It is located seven kilometres from the city centre on the Northern end of lake Päijänne, where it is bordered by Jyskä to the west, Sulunperä and Kaunisharju to the north, Tölskä to the west and Haapaniemi to the south. As of January 2012 the population of Vaajakoski district was 1503. In spoken language the name Vaajakoski is used to describe big parts of Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward.

Vaajakoski-Jyskä

Vaajakoski-Jyskä is a ward of Jyväskylä, Finland. It is located seven kilometres from the city centre on both sides of Vaajavirta river on the Northern end of lake Päijänne and on the Western end of Lake Leppävesi. As of July 2011 the population of Vaajakoski-Jyskä was 14.588. In spoken language the name Vaajakoski is used to describe big parts of Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward. The Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward is divided into 12 different neighbourhoods.

Leppävesi

Leppävesi is the 65th (63.59 km²) largest lake of Finland in municipalities Jyväskylä, Laukaa and Toivakka. It flows to Päijänne via Vaajavirta. It's part of Keitele Canal, waterway connecting Lake Keitele and Päijänne. National road 9 and Pieksämäki–Jyväskylä railway cross it.

Kanavuori

Kanavuori is a district, a hill and a nature reserve in Jyväskylä, Finland. It is a part of Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward. It is located at around 10 kilometres from the city centre on the shores of Vaajavirta river between lake Päijänne and lake Leppävesi. There were 738 inhabitants in Kanavuori as of 31 December 2007.

Kuokkala, Jyväskylä

Kuokkala is a ward of Jyväskylä, Finland. It contains six districts: Ristonmaa, Kuokkala, Kuokkalanpelto, Ristikivi, Nenäinniemi and Hämeenlahti. As of July 2012, 17.270 people live in Kuokkala. The Kuokkala ward is separated from the Jyväskylä city centre by the Lake Jyväsjärvi and is joined to Lutakko by the Kuokkala Bridge. Additionally, it is delimited by the National road 9 on the west, lake Päijänne on the east and the south, and the Äijälänsalmi strait between the two lakes.
