Battle of Mount Olympus

The Battle of Mount Olympus was fought in 189 BC between the Galatian Gauls of Asia Minor and an alliance consisting of Rome and Pergamum. The battle ended in a crushing allied victory. Livy is the main source for this battle, and his description can be found in book 38, chapters 17-23.

Yeniceköy, Bursa

Yenceköy is a town in İnegöl district of Bursa Province, Turkey. Situated at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:40|05|N|29|25|E||| | |name= }} it is 9 kilometres west of İnegöl and 40 kilometres east of Bursa. The population of Yeniceköy is 11338 as of 2011. Although no document exists about the history of the settlement, the ruins of a historical hamam suggest that the history of the town goes back to 15th century. Probably there was a sizeable Armenian population in the past.

Cumalıkızık

Cumalıkızık is a village located 10 kilometers east of Bursa, at the foot of Mount Uludağ. Its history goes back to the Ottoman Empire's foundation period. The village is now included within the border of the Yıldırım district as a neighbourhood. Cumalıkızık was founded as a vakıf village. The historical texture of the village has been well protected and the civilian countryside architectural structures of the early Ottoman period are still intact.

Emir Sultan Mosque

Emir Sultan Mosque (Turkish: Emir Sultan Camii) is a mosque in Bursa, Turkey. First built in the 14th century, it was rebuilt in 1804 upon the orders of the Ottoman Sultan Selim III, and re-built again in 1868, along slightly varying plans each time. Emir Sultan, also known as Şemseddin Mehmed Ali el-Hüseyin el Buhari, was a dervish and scholar from Bukhara and also the advisor and son-in-law of the Ottoman Sultan Sultan, Bayezid I.

Bursa Province

Bursa Province is a province in western Turkey, along the Sea of Marmara. Its adjacent provinces are Balıkesir to the west, Kütahya to the south, Bilecik and Sakarya to the east, Kocaeli to the northeast and Yalova to the north. The province has an area of 11,043 km and a population of 3,187,000 (2010 est). It was 2,125,140 according to the 2000 census. In 1990 it had a population of 1,603,137. The traffic code is 16.
