Urim SIGINT Base
Urim SIGINT Base is an Israeli intelligence-gathering installation, part of the Unit 8200. Urim is located in the Negev desert approximately 30km from Beersheba, a couple of kilometres north of the kibbutz of Urim. The existence of the signal interception base became known to the public only in 2010. Equivalents of Unit 8200 are the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) of Britain and the National Security Agency (NSA) of the United States.

The Moshavei Yahdav is a group of three moshavim located in the north-western Negev desert between Netivot and Ofakim and under the jurisdiction of Bnei Shimon Regional Council. They are: Brosh Ta'ashur Tidhar The three moshavim were all established in 1953 by Moroccan immigrants who were members of the Bnei Moshavim movement.

HaBesor Stream
HaBesor is a wadi in southern Israel. The stream begins at Mount Boker, and spills into the Mediterranean Sea near Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip, where it is called Wadi Gaza. The stream is the largest in the northern Negev, and together with its largest tributaries, the Grar and Beersheba streams, reaches as far as Sde Boker, Yeruham, Dimona and Arad/Tel Arad. The water is used by citizens of the Gaza Strip and Israel.
